Jay rushed back to Château de Selene the next evening. He opened the door anxiously and shouted, “Angeline!” No one answered him. Jay went upstairs and pushed the bedroom door open, only to see Angeline sleeping soundly. From the sound of her regular breathing, he could tell that she was at ease.
