Zachary's POV This was causing her great distress. It was easy to see the impact of everything. It was quite evidence. Zachary hoped there was a way for him to help her escape this situation. He believed that everything would turn out okay, but there was no way to know for sure if it would. What lay ahead was more daunting than anything they had encountered until now, and they felt more vulnerable than ever. He longed to provide her with reassurance. Throughout the drive home, Scarlett remained quiet, her mind swirling with numerous thoughts. He was aware since he was also lost in thoughts. Upon returning home, Scarlett came down on her own, not pausing for the door to be opened for her. She went inside without waiting for him. He neither halted her nor called out to her; this was not the moment for that. They needed the peace of their residences and maybe engage in a conversation. If she was not ready to converse, he would patiently bide his time until she felt inclined to engage.
