Chapter 106

Lusia   The night breeze whistled past my ear as I stepped into the garden. It was quiet and the only sound I could hear was that of the singing crickets that filled the air. The scent of flowers filled the air and flushed down my lungs as I walked through the garden. The damp earth also made its way into the air mixing with the scent of the flowers.   I was deep in thought. My chest was overwhelmed with emotions. It was hard to believe what had happened. There was no way that Dane would do something like this to me. There was no way that he was going to turn his back on me after everything. Why would he believe that lady over me? It was absurd. It was obvious that she had been lying to him.     Tonight was the first time I had the feeling to kill somebody. And it was that lady. Shs had lied about me in my face and that of Dane’s. And it looked like Dane had pretty much believed her. Of course, he had used the instance from the altercation at the council meeting to back up his claim. B
