Mason's POV I've never been in a more awkward office place before. Where you try to do anything but look in the eye of the one person you're here to talk with. I swear being in an Alpha's office after being found trespassing is a lot easier to handle than this tense atmosphere. As Mabel was asking my daughter questions about her special ability, she was sending looks my way. She tried to make them discreet but I saw every little look she sent my way. Every look from those heartbroken eyes made me made to crawl up in a corner and die. She was making this situation even harder on me if that was even a possibility. In the history of excuses, and explanations were having never been an easy way to explain to your mate why you have a daughter with another women. Even before we get a chance to talk her very little trust in my word wouldn't allow me many chances to explain. She'd jump to conclusions and believe I'd rejected her before we even meet.
