Chapter 49

We got inside the pack house and we were greeted by Ace, Maddy, their son Niko, Aunt Olivia, her mate, who I had yet to be introduced to, and Lily. They all had bright, welcoming smiles on their faces. We all set our bags by the door and began greeting everyone.  The first two people to come to me were Niko and Lily. "You're back!" they both yelled in unison as they ran towards me and embraced me. All three of us laughed as I stumbled back from all the sudden weight being placed on me. "Hey!" I greeted and laughed, patting both of their backs. Lily let go of me but Niko was hanging on tight to my leg and refused to let go. "You weren't nearly this energetic when we first met, bud," I pointed out. "Why the sudden change?" I asked playfully. Niko shrugged. "I'm happy around people I like." Just like that, he ran off laughing, probably in search for his little friends. He left me with an even wider smile than the one I had walked in the house with.
