"I just want to learn something I've never learned before. Something challenging. That's what excites me," Scarlett said. Xavier's heart stirred, and a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips. So, he had been thinking too narrowly. There was always something unexpected about Scarlett. The gentle pressure on his scalp made him feel completely at ease. There was something especially soothing about the warmth and softness of her fingertips. It was as if, just by being there, she could take away all his exhaustion and let him sleep in peace. When Scarlett finally left his room, it was already 2:00 am. She slept less than three hours before waking up at 5:00 am sharp to spar with Edmund. During lunch break at school, she squeezed in a quick game and a 40-minute nap. Even so, she stayed sharp and focused the whole day. The senior year students were in full sprint now.
