Chapter27: The scepter of convergence

LORRY SPRINGSTONE'S/KELLY THOMPSON'S POV  I keep on trying to find the right words to comfort Eden without making false promises. But then, Elowen's voice cuts through the tension. "Is this true?" she demands, her eyes darting between Jason and me. "Have you been lying to me this entire time?" I open my mouth to explain, but Lady Arianrhod interrupts with a cold laugh. "Oh, they've been lying to everyone, dear Elowen. It's what their kind does best." Jason growls low in his throat, his eyes flashing with a hint of amber.  "We did what we had to do to protect our son," he snarls. "You have no idea what we've been through." Lady Arianrhod's form flickers, her ethereal presence growing more imposing.  "I know more than you think, Alpha King. I know of the ongoing war between your pack and that of old Alpha Biansky.
