Felix walked over with two ceramic cups—one sleek and smooth, perfectly shaped, and the other so wonky and lopsided it was almost offensive to the eyes.
"They're already done?" I asked, taking the hideous one from him. The more I looked at it, the worse it got.
Clearly annoyed, Felix shot Silas a look. "Any longer in the kiln and my wife might've walked off with someone else."
I stifled a laugh. He had heard my conversation with Silas, after all.
I tugged lightly on the hem of Felix's shirt and gave him my best pleading look. "Didn't you say you liked coffee? Let's check out Mr. Somerton's coffee house, just for a bit?"
He tried to resist, but in the end, compromised with a reluctant nod.
I expected Silas' cafe to be tucked away somewhere quiet, maybe in a hidden alley. Instead, he pointed toward a small building right next to the main plaza.
"That's my cafe," he said.
