#Chapter 6 The Alpha’s Choice

“No!” Bianca’s voice rings out from behind Prince Kaine, and his gaze darts between us in reaction to her outburst. At the Prince’s puzzled look, she quickly continues, “I apologize. It’s just that Ember is my sister and I am worried about her future in the royal guard.” Prince Kaine’s puzzled expression, turns to one of understanding, and he motions for her to continue. Bianca elaborates, “My family’s biggest hope for Ember is that she will find her mate and return home. I am worried that being seen working so publicly, especially at her age, will get in the way of her settling down.” As Bianca speaks, I can’t help but scoff. Her, and my father have always disapproved of my ambitions, believing that I was disgracing the family by becoming a warrior instead of prioritizing domestic skills and keeping a mate. Over time, I learned to hold my tongue at their comments and just live my life. I wait for Prince Kaine to agree with Bianca, and to rescind his offer in light of her words
