Chapter 7

"Some people just aren't good at reading out loud. I used to be one of them until roughly my sophomore year of high school." She said, trying to relate to me in order to make me feel less shitty about my predicament. I could see her hands twitch as if they wanted to grip my own reassuringly, but she stayed still. "I don't read well period." I said truthfully. "It's kind of hard to do when you're dyslexic." I rambled on, surprising the hell out of myself. I scrunched my brows, avoiding her gaze this time around. I didn't understand. I'd never openly admitted to my...disability ever before. Well, except for Chad. He's been my ride or die ever since we were in diapers. I knew he'd never judge me, no matter what it was. "You're dyslexic?" She asked incredulously. "Can we not dwell on it? It's embarrassing enough to have to live with it." I huffed, feeling my cheeks heat and flush. "It's nothing to be ashamed of-" She started to say, but I
