Chapter 66

"Why would I ask you? The answer will be yes." He said, his tone confused as if he really didn't understand why I was upset. In his defense, he'd never grown up with any affection in his life. I doubt he ever thought he'd be getting married. He probably has no idea how big of a deal it is to get down on one knee and ask a girl to marry him. "Nevermind." I answered back, disappointment hanging heavily in my tone as I pulled away from him and grabbed my purse that I'd brought with me. We'd just exited the shop when Scar pulled on my arm to stop us before I hailed a cab. "Do you really want me to ask you that badly?" He asked, genuinely listening for my answer. I shrugged my shoulders careless before looking away from him. "It's fine. Let's just go back to the hotel." I answered flatly. He sighed deeply from beside me before slipping the ring off of my finger and dropping down to one knee right smack dab in the middle of the busy sidewalk.
