Chapter 37 Camelia Is Trying to Be Kind to Veronica

Veronica couldn't help but feel a sharp ache in her chest. Gregory was willing to play along with Madilynn to pave the way for his marriage to Camelia later. Though she let out a self-deprecating laugh inwardly, her expression stayed icy. "That's your business. It has nothing to do with me." Gregory narrowed his eyes at her. "What's the matter, Veronica? Are you afraid? Are you worried that three months of close proximity will only make you love me more? That you'll be even more reluctant to go through with the divorce? Is that why you're so eager to keep your distance from me?" Veronica looked at him as if he had just told a ridiculous joke. "Don't flatter yourself." She smirked and continued, "Fine. Since you're so intent on marrying Camelia, I'll be kind and help you out. Don't worry. I'll play my part over the next three months. I'll make sure you win your bet." Veronica wasn't saying it out of spite; she had thought it through. They were destined for divorce anyway. Once the
