Chapter 39
Coffee shop.
Camila sat by the window, idly stirring her coffee with a tiny metal spoon. She looked relaxed, almost lazy.
Before heading out, she'd swapped into a sleeveless, pale-yellow dress. Since they were going shopping and the sun was blazing, she threw on a light embroidered mesh cardigan for some cover.
Her long hair was gathered loosely with a faintly floral ribbon, braided casually and hanging over her right shoulder. The pale skin of her long, graceful neck looked like it came straight out of a painting-quiet and elegant, like a swan.
She sat silently in that quiet corner by the window, perfectly framed by the soft afternoon light. The kind of peaceful beauty that made passersby stop and glance through the glass to get a better look.
"Welcome," called a voice.
Right when Camila was starting to get a little bored, the café door was pushed open, and in came Emma like a whirlwind.
