Chapter 40: August Visitors

Raymond and Sandra had come up behind Violet to surprise her, though wondering what she was doing there. Not because they didn't want her around but because they had expected her to be with her fiance, having a good time. That had also known that it was Violet and not Viola because of her dressing. It was more conservative than Viola's. They had still not been sure until they had got close and seen her sway and fall, but Raymond had been very fast and had caught her before she could reach the floor. They tried to revive her. They sprinkled water on her face but she merely blinked but did not wake until Sandra brought some smelling salt and she woke. 'Violet?' Sandra asked, she knew it was Violet but she just wanted to be doubly sure. When they had sighted heir visitor waiting for them under the shade, she had immediately known it was Violet but a preservation instinct made her suspect it might be Viola come once more to trouble her. She wouldn't put it past her. But when she swayed, Sa
