As he drove, Damien recalled how he had met Violet for the first time, how she had reacted when he had splashed mud on her. He recalled her set look when she had started working for him and then when he started falling in love with her. He recalled the fury he had felt when his employee had wanted to rape Violet and also when she had told him about her past.
