Chapter 29
"You're ravenous, girl," Aaron teased.
I nodded, cheeks full, eyes on him. "Ye–s I’m," I mumbled, still chewing.
Then he leaned in and licked the corner of my lips. My heart skipped. “Mmm... tastes good,” he whispered.
I stared at him, eyes wide, heat rising to my face. I’d just showered, but my skin was already burning. “I’m done,” I blurted.
“So soon?” he asked, raising a brow.
I swallowed hard. “I’m full,” I said quickly.
“Was the food alright?” he asked, watching me.
“It was really good,” I replied, forcing a smile.
He smiled back and began clearing the table. I quietly stepped away and sat on the couch, fidgeting. Moments later, he joined me, sitting close.
The silence wrapped around us, thick and heavy. I needed a distraction—anything. “Let’s watch a movie,” I suggested.
Aaron’s eyes lit up. “Not a bad idea.”
He put something on and returned, sitting beside me again. I tried to focus on the screen, but my thoughts kept drifting—to him, to us, to what this night might become.
