Tati let out a deep sigh. “We trusted you,” she said, voice strained. “The least you could’ve done was tell me.”
Through her tears, Ivy clung to Aaron’s shirt. “Mom…” she whispered. “I can’t live without him—or our child.”
“Ivy!” Franklin roared again. His face twisted with fury. “You can’t stop anything, Tati,” he growled, grabbing Ivy by the hair.
“Dad!” she screamed in pain.
Aaron stepped forward, alarmed. “What are you doing, brother?!”
Franklin shoved Ivy, but Tati caught her before she fell.
“If you really see me as your brother,” Franklin said coldly to Aaron, “leave this house. And leave Ivy behind.”
Ivy’s voice shook. “Dad…”
Aaron said nothing. His eyes stayed fixed on Franklin.
“We gave you everything,” Franklin continued. “Now it’s your turn. Leave my daughter, and we’re done. You’ll owe us nothing.”
Mr. Charles stepped in. “Franklin, think about what you’re saying.”
But Franklin shook his head. “The mistake was letting him stay with us,” he said bitterly.
