Serena looked confused. Why would Nadine be here? But Hunter ignored her question and merely dragged her by the arm toward the second floor. The foul smell she'd noticed upon entering grew stronger with each step, making her grimace in disgust. "Hunter, where are you taking me? What is that awful smell?" Hunter glanced at her sideways. "To see Nadine." His answer made Serena frown deeper. She couldn't help but ask, "But isn't Nadine dead?" Hunter didn't respond. He led her into the pitch-black second floor, and the stench was so overpowering she nearly gagged. Forced to feel her way through the darkness, she stumbled until her leg bumped against something, and Hunter finally stopped. Then the lights flashed on, revealing Nadine's corpse. Serena almost vomited on the spot. "Hunter, are you insane? Why would you show me a dead body?" She screamed while covering her mouth, barely keeping herself upright.
