Chapter 15

Arthur did just as he said he would. For the following days, he stayed in the inn, acting the part of a tourist visiting Verrea. However, his schedule was far different from that of the usual tourist, as the only tourist attraction he visited was Maya's inn. He would lounge on the couch as his gaze followed her like a radar. As he continued to observe her daily life, he eventually found something very disconcerting. For example, the neighbour who had invited him in was a regular at Maya's inn. He would often drop by with snacks and a smile on his lips. One could say that he was just being friendly if it weren't for the undeniable looks of admiration he would shoot Maya from time to time. Arthur would clench his fists whenever he noticed those glances, barely keeping himself from exploding in a jealous fit. However, he didn't dare act out of line. He was afraid that Maya would use that as an excuse to kick him out of the inn. Still, he managed to enjoy a few days of uneasy peace
