"They've got Dane and the others with them. I'm sure they'll be okay," Beckett tried to comfort her, stepping aside to call Dane. But when he got off the phone, his expression had clearly darkened. Terrell was still playing around with Chris, Liam, and Daisy—such a peaceful, happy scene. "Something happened, didn't it?" I asked softly. Beckett didn't respond, just took Madeleine's hand and led her into the study. Madeleine's heart was racing. Her gut told her this wasn't some small thing.
