Julian chuckled, eyes crinkling. "Got it, Grandpa. Loud and clear."
Gerald glanced at him, then shifted his gaze away, but the smile on his face only grew wider watching how naturally Julian and Evelyn got along.
Dinner felt surprisingly relaxed for Evelyn. Although she'd been a little anxious at first, Gerald's light teasing throughout the meal helped her loosen up and enjoy herself.
