Taking a deep breath, Evelyn forced herself to calm down, though her face was still clouded with anger.
"You really think I let you stay here out of some stupid sense of family?" Her voice dripped with sarcasm, but her eyes were cold as ice.
George, who'd been acting all high and mighty just a second ago, instantly deflated in the face of her fury. For a brief moment, he was genuinely rattled by her.
