Chapter 1733 Margot's Guilt
In her previous life, Margot had introduced James to Tamara. Later, James' actions filled her with guilt and self-reproach.
So when James poisoned the Moore family, she had gone to Nammu Bay without hesitation. She was the one who brought him to Tamara, and she felt responsible for it.
Since she had a chance to start over, she decided not to let it happen again.
Tamara seemed to read her mind and smiled.
"Are you overthinking it, Margot? His target was me in the past life. Even if you didn't introduce us, he would have found other ways to get closer to me. His goal has always been me."
Margot was moved by her words. "Tammy ..."
Tamara interrupted her, "Don't overthink it. I won't have any dealings with him in this lifetime, and we'll both be fine."
Her dreams had stopped when Jonathan rescued her from the warehouse and took her to the hospital.
Sebastian hadn't appeared since then, so she knew that James was the one sent by Elijah to kill her. Of course, she understood what Margot was thinking.
Margot sighed. "Tammy, why are you so understanding? If I were a man, I'd definitely marry you!"
Tamara replied, "If I were a man, I'd marry you too. But I'm afraid Mr. Inkling would beat me up."
The two of them laughed again.
By the time they finished their conversation, it was already night. The sky was filled with twinkling stars.
Margot reclined on her lounge chair, gazing at the twinkling stars. She couldn't help but wonder what Benjamin was doing.
She realized she was becoming more and more reliant on him.
…
In Londsville, within the well-illuminated Simmons residence, Tamara retreated to her room. She intended to continue her research on the scented tea leaves. However, her phone rang. She glanced at it, and her expression shifted.
After a moment, she answered the call. "Hello?"
"Come out," a deep voice came through the phone. In the quiet night, it sent shivers down her spine.
Tamara furrowed her brows. "Are you outside my house?"
Sebastian responded, "I've lost my sense of taste again."
Tamara fell silent.
His intentions couldn't be more obvious!
She huffed, "Are you going to come to me whenever you lose your sense of taste?"
Sebastian chuckled softly. "Isn't that what you promised me? Until you find a cure for me, you'll help me recover it. Do you want to back out now?"
Tamara found herself in a state of speechlessness and annoyance.
Sebastian continued, "I thought Ms. Simmons was a person of her word."
Tamara wanted to retort, but she suddenly remembered what Margot had said about putting aside her biases and truly understanding Sebastian to see him for who he really was.
With that thought in mind, her anger lessened. "Wait for a moment, then."
She hung up the phone.
She stood in place for a while before finally leaving her room with her phone in hand.
In the living room, Alex was watching TV. When she saw Tamara coming downstairs, she asked, "It's late. Where are you going?"
Tamara's eyes revealed a hint of unease. "I'm going to 1999. Margot is on a business trip, and she asked me to look after 1999."
Alex knew that Margot had opened a club, so she nodded. "Sure, let Anthony accompany you."
"Alright." Tamara nodded and left.
Upstairs, a door opened. The person inside glared down at Tamara with resentment until she was out of sight.
