Chapter 1736 Don't Look for Me
Pela pushed the door open and walked in, holding a cup of homemade coffee. She smiled at Tamara. "I brewed this coffee myself. Give it a try."
"Alright, thank you." Tamara nodded, but she still didn't set the teacup down.
Pela seemed to notice something, and her smile grew even wider. "The food will be ready soon. Please wait a little longer."
With that, she left the room.
Sebastian chirped, "Pela makes great coffee. You should try it."
He pushed the coffee toward Tamara.
Tamara finally placed her teacup down. Her lips were moist, making them look even more delicate, like ripe cherries.
Sebastian glanced at them, and he unconsciously swallowed hard.
Tamara took the coffee cup and tried it. Her eyes twinkled.
"Do you like it?" He observed her closely and asked when he saw her sparkling eyes.
Tamara, however, placed the coffee on the table and said calmly, "Sebastian, I don't want what happened just now to happen again."
Sebastian cocked an eyebrow. "What happened earlier?"
"You!" Tamara glared at him. "Don't play dumb with me. I agreed to help you with your treatment, but not like that!"
Sebastian looked at her calmly. "Not like that? Then how would you treat me?"
Tamara fell silent. She was so angry!
She shot him an annoyed look and stood up, heading toward the door.
However, Sebastian piped up, "It's the second time, Ms. Simmons."
Tamara halted in her steps, her face flushed with anger. But it quickly disappeared. She turned and sat back in front of him.
Sebastian stared at her with his dark eyes.
Tamara asked, "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
This time, she was calm, and she believed he understood what she meant.
Sebastian mumbled, "I didn't."
Tamara huffed, "Someone told me not to mind the dream and get to know you better."
Sebastian's eyes widened slightly at her words, his finger unconsciously tightening around his cup. But his face did not betray his emotions. "And?"
Tamara smiled. "I promised to have dinner with you with that in mind. But after what just happened, I'm a bit disappointed."
Sebastian suddenly felt an indescribable bitterness and pain coursing through him.
Disappointed?
Why was she disappointed?
Was it because of the way he kissed her?
But how could he be blamed for that?
His longing for her had been driving him insane. From the moment he first saw her, he wanted to do more than that.
He had been trying so hard to restrain himself. But when she leaned in just now, he couldn't hold back any longer.
He had missed her so much!
Tamara's gaze remained steady, but her palms were sweaty. "I will develop a treatment for you as soon as possible. Please don't come to me for the time being."
The teacup suddenly shattered!
Sebastian's hand clenched into a fist, and drops of blood flowed from his fingers. His smile gradually disappeared from his face. His dark eyes seemed to be hiding a brewing storm as he looked at her.
"What did you say?" he spoke in a hoarse voice. Although he sounded calm, Tamara could hear the slight tremor underneath it.
Tamara was startled by his actions. Her breath caught when she saw the blood trickling from his fingers, and a subtle pain spread through her chest.
It was an unfamiliar feeling, and it felt terribly uncomfortable. She didn't want to see him hurt.
She immediately stood up and grabbed his hand. "Let go!"
But Sebastian held her wrist, his eyes fixed on her. "What did you say? Repeat yourself."
The two of them were on opposite sides of a table, with her standing and him sitting. He held her wrist as she leaned forward.
The atmosphere in the room grew tense in an instant.
