I stalked toward the door, my muscles tense with anticipation.
My worthless excuse for a brother was pounding on my bedroom door like a wild animal.
The sound echoed through my penthouse apartment, disturbing the peaceful morning I'd planned to spend with my new... wife.
I'd been expecting this visit.
That's why I hadn't changed the code to my private elevator. I'd even predicted he might cause a scene at the wedding—which he did, before security dragged him out.
I'm petty and vindictive. I've never claimed to be a good man.
Part of me wanted this confrontation. I wanted Father to be embarrassed.
I wanted all of them to feel the humiliation I'd endured for years.
When Silvia had asked me earlier, "Aren't you upset they left halfway through the ceremony?" I'd laughed.
Upset? Hell no.
I was fucking elated to see their high-and-mighty facades crumble.
