Serena's POV
That's when the driver removed his hoodie, and my blood ran cold. I let out a loud scream as Ross's voice came through the phone, concerned, "Serena, what's going on?”
I stared at the dustbin collector, my voice shaking.
"Wh...what do you want?"
He responded with an unnerving calmness, "It doesn't matter what I want. I only have one job to do, and that's what I'm doing."
Through the phone, Ross's concerned voice cut through the tension, "Serena, are you okay?"
But I was beyond responding. My hands trembled as I discreetly reached for my pepper spray in my bag.
With a surge of adrenaline, I managed to pull it out and sprayed it directly at his face.
He let out a pained growl. The car swerved, and I struggled to hold onto the steering wheel.
As the vehicle went out of control, it eventually crashed into a tree. Dizziness washed over me, but I summoned every last bit of strength and sprayed the pepper spray at him again.
