Luneth looks so shocked at my compliment that she looks down at herself to avoid my eyes and begins gently brushing against her dress nervously. I had intentionally avoided complimenting how good she looked in the dress earlier because I was afraid of what would happen if I did. She tried her best to react normally, but still, this was not okay. It was almost like I had exposed her to something she did not fancy.
"Well, thank you," she murmured without raising her head for me to look at her.
I sigh and nod before focusing on the vast ocean before us.
"I know the circumstances in which we got married are not ideal, but the last thing I want to do is cage you." This makes her head whip up to me instantly.
"What do you mean by that?" she asks slowly as if she is trying to figure it out for herself first.
"I mean that this marriage is not a prison yard with no escape for you."
