The run was tiring and made the hair stick to my body but truly while I ran out in the still morning air, I had nothing on my mind, no plot for revenge, and no thoughts on how I was going to survive because one thing I know was that Melissa was never okay with what she had; all she ever wanted was what I wanted.
"Here," Dexon extends a bottle of water to me. I look up at him, feeling my chest heave up and down on its own. "You are quite unhealthy," he said, sitting beside me.
I look at him with a questioning look. I knew that I was unhealthy, but then must he point it out? "Well, I beg to differ; I think you, who ran without getting tired, are the strange one."
"We ran for ten minutes," he said as if it were some discovery.
"And I made it," I reply. The air between us is not as tense as it always is; it is not serious but light, and I like this. I wish this were what my life was, getting married, not because there was a reputation to uphold,
