Just as the needle was about to pierce Vivian's vein, her eyes snapped open.
In a flash, her leg shot out, kicking the man with the syringe clear across the room.
She flipped up onto her feet in one smooth move, eyes sweeping quickly across everyone present.
Seven people total. Leading the group was Richard Grant. The other six? All familiar faces—flunkies from his company.
Disappointment flickered across her face.
