By the end of the month, Shaw Group held its shareholders’ meeting.
Celeste Harper showing up didn’t really shock anyone, though reactions ranged all over the place. Everyone in Yannburgh’s business circles had heard—she was no longer the eldest daughter-in-law of the Shaw family. Ever since she got pregnant, she’d stopped being involved in the company altogether.
Still, because she played a key role in acquiring the Goodwin Group, she was awarded 9% in shares when the merger went through. Add that to the 3% Edward Shaw had previously transferred to her, and that made her holdings 12% total.
The meeting took place in the top-floor conference room of Shaw Group’s headquarters.
