Chapter 353
It was around noon when Celeste Harper stepped out of the elevator and into the underground parking lot.
Caleb Summers had been waiting there. Lily Garland stayed in the car with the baby—she couldn't really show her face.
"So? How did it go?" Caleb asked the moment he saw her.
Celeste shook her head, her shrug weak and tired. "Edward Shaw pushed through a five-percent shareholder voting rule. Liam won."
The five-percent rule meant only those holding at least five percent of shares could vote. Seemed fair on paper, but most of those shareholders were loyal to Edward Shaw. It was a total loss for Celeste.
"He's really set on handing the company to Liam? Has he lost his mind? Or did Ethan not talk to him at all?"
"I don’t know," she murmured, shaking her head.
Thinking back to how her last conversation with Ethan Shaw ended—stormy and unresolved—she had no idea if he would even use the truth about Grace Shaw’s case to get through to Edward.
As they spoke, the elevator dinged behind them.
