"Matthew, you're out of line!"
"Out of line?" Matthew glanced down and smoothed out his clothes, letting out a cold chuckle. "If your body weren't so damn fragile, I’d have gone even further."
Serena pulled the blanket tighter around herself, gritting her teeth as she shot back, "Don’t forget, we’re only in a fake marriage."
Walking forward a couple of steps, Matthew looked like he’d been carved by a master sculptor—handsome to an unreal degree. He gave her a chilling smirk. "Mrs. Quinn, don’t be naive. There’s no ‘fake marriage’ in the eyes of the law. The deal is, you’re my woman. That doesn’t change till death."
She froze.
Yeah, legally, she was indeed married to Matthew.
"But I don’t love you," Serena spat the words out like they burned her tongue.
It sounded more like she was trying to convince herself.
Living under one roof with a man she had zero feelings for, putting up with his ice-cold sarcasm and twisted games—that was a bottomless pit of misery.
