Chapter 916
Jordan, who had been utterly suppressed by Cyrus for months, finally felt a boost of confidence again. As he had now tasted success, his thoughts began to wander.
Seeing that Ferdinand was doing a great job in escorting the guests and it was still early, Jordan headed to the Foster Group.
Meanwhile, Margot was reviewing the company's accounts with the CFO. She planned to transfer her funds to an overseas account.
"Ms. Margot, are you planning to transfer all seven to eight billion dollars?"
"Yes." Margot nodded.
"Would the family council approve this?"
"They have no choice but to do so. It's essentially the equivalent of me selling all my shares," Margot said.
Shocked, the CFO blurted out, "Are you saying that you're no longer the chairperson of the Foster Group?"
"That's correct," Margot concurred with a nod.
With her 30% stake, valued at 45 billion dollars based on the current 150 billion-dollar market value of the Foster Group, withdrawing just eight billion dollars would indeed be a significant loss for her.
"Should we convene a family board meeting?"
"No need. We're running out of time," Margot said. "I'll explain it to them, and you just have to transfer the funds as soon as possible."
"Alright. But the funds will take at least three days to be credited into your account."
Margot sighed. "I can settle with that. Get on with it now."
She hoped that with the billions of dollars Nicole had already transferred, it would be enough to support them in their future.
Escaping was their only option once Cyrus was dead. Perhaps they could never return to Summerland or Josproburgh again.
Staring at the photo on her desk of her, Bella, and Cyrus, she felt her heart ache. She collapsed over her desk and burst into tears.
"You bastard! Are you just going to abandon us like this?"
Just then, Bella knocked and entered her office. She also couldn't hold back her tears once she saw Margot weeping.
Her eyes turned red as she said, "Margot, you've got to pull yourself together. Jordan is here."
"What is he doing here now?"
"I've no idea, but he looks quite smug. I bet he's up to no good," Bella replied.
"Don't let him know about our plans. Let him in."
Both of them wiped their tears and took a deep breath before calling out, "Mr. Hayes, please come in."
Grinning, Jordan stuck his head in and said, "Margot, I've come to see you."
"I'm very busy right now. If there's nothing important, don't waste my time," Margot said coldly.
Not only was she the chairwoman of the Foster Group, but she was also in charge of Jordan Pharmaceuticals. Technically, she was his superior.
When Cyrus was still around, Jordan feared Margot and even treated Bella with the utmost respect. He knew he couldn't afford to offend Cyrus' women.
Now, however, he was feeling quite bold.
Swaggering into the office, he plopped down on the couch and asked gently, "Have you been crying, Margot?"
"Who gave you permission to call me that? It's Ms. Foster to you," Margot snapped.
Jordan chuckled. "Right, Ms. Foster. I was just passing by and thought I'd check on you."
"I don't need your concern, Mr. Hayes."
"Stop acting tough. Now that Cyrus is gone, Jorsproburgh's medical community is in shambles. Right now, even General Longabatten won't be of any help. Only I can protect you two," Jordan said smugly.
Margot scoffed. "I'd love to hear how you plan to protect us."
"Who's my grandfather?"
"Owen Sykes, of course."
"That's right. He's coming over to my place soon. Don't you think I can put in a good word for you?" Jordan asked with a grin.
All color drained from Margot's face.
"When will he arrive?"
Glancing at his watch, Jordan replied, "He's almost here, and he isn't alone. Our family is about to soar to great heights soon!"
"Who else is coming?" Bella asked, visibly nervous.
