Chapter 4

Elise was so shocked she didn't react at first. "What did you say?" "It's just my nudes you want, right? You don't need to upload them, I can do that myself," I said. I took out my phone and started a livestream. I then began stripping my clothes in front of the camera. "Hi everyone, my name is Rosalie Summers. I've been deeply troubled lately. There's this lady by the name of Elise Irving who's been threatening me with photos of me sleeping with her best friend. I found it so strange. Why does she keep on antagonizing me? Do you guys think it's because she has a crush on her best friend?" I swiftly stripped my clothes away as I spoke to the camera. My down jacket, overcoat, wool sweater… When I stripped down to my undershirt, a black winter coat was suddenly wrapped around my shoulders. Tyrone had a stormy expression on his face. "Are you insane, Rosalie Summers? Are you trying to dig your own grave here?" Everyone in the room was bewildered by what I was doing. Elise's face was especially pale as well. I smiled at Tyrone. "That's exactly right. I want to die so badly." Tyrone was taken aback. "What?" Before he could react, I dashed over to the window and set my foot on the sill. Everyone in the room gasped in fright. Tyrone instantly grew furious. "What are you doing, Rosalie Summers? Get down from there!" "Tyrone!" I yelled out. "After spending so much time with you, there's only one thing I want to say to you!" I then spat out three words as he watched on nervously. "You stupid idiot!" Then, I turned around and leapt out the window. Tyrone's voice was louder than Timothy's. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to die. When I next opened my eyes, I'd returned to a familiar place—the hospital. Tyrone told me that a garbage truck had driven past right as I jumped off the building. It was the reason why I only broke a leg. Broke a leg? I looked at my broken leg, unable to muster any tears. I wouldn't have jumped out the window if I'd known this would happen. Tyrone saw how I was on the verge of tears and thought that I was feeling deeply aggrieved. He cleared his throat and said, "I know why you did what you did earlier tonight." I looked up at him, only to realize that his affection for me had increased to 60%. "You've been angry at me all this time because I always focused on my friends and not you. Don't worry, I've recovered all the photos and videos of you. I've also told Elise to never fool around like that again. I'm sure you understand what I'm implying here, right?" The expression on my face was one of confusion. Tyrone blushed. "You have my permission to court me, Rosalie Summers." He then raised his head. There was a delighted expression on his face, as if he was waiting for me to dive into his arms. I bit my lip, nearly yelling out about who in their right mind would want to court him. Tyrone's phone rang just then. It was a call from Elise. "Have you finished your business at the hospital, kid? You promised to squad up with us tonight. If you bail on us, I'll make you regret it." Elise's voice was loud, so I could hear every single word she said. Tyrone gazed at me awkwardly. "Go," I said coldly. Tyrone seemed torn for a moment before he stood up. "I'll come back after a quick game. Elise is having her rank-up match. She's going to nag me for ages if I don't go help her." Tyrone then left. I still wanted to die. So, I went to buy a knife, dragging my injured leg behind me all the while. Afterward, I thought about going back to the hospital to settle the fees. I was going to die soon anyway, and I didn't want to owe the hospital anything. Who knew I'd bump into my second target, Travis Ryker, in the hospital lobby? Travis was here to keep his childhood friend, Susan Greene, company while she did her checkup. He was surprised when he saw me. His brows then furrowed together. "Are you stalking me, Rosalie Summers?" I was about to explain myself when he said impatiently, "You're just in time. You need to have a checkup, too. Susie's kidney won't last until next month. You have to donate your kidney to her in the next few days." His matter-of-fact tone made me huff angrily. "You want my kidney, right?" I raised the knife tucked in my sleeve and pointed it right at my waist. "No need to wait—I'll give it to her right now! In fact, she can have my life too for all I care!" What I pictured in my mind was the knife colored a bright shade of red as I stabbed myself, my blood spouting everywhere. However, someone grabbed onto the handle before I could stab myself with the blade. I looked up to meet Travis' gaze. When I saw his hand wrapped around the blade and covered in blood, my grip on the handle loosened in fright. The knife fell onto the ground with a clang. All the bystanders gasped in fright. To my surprise, the first person to react was Susan. She quickly yelled for a doctor to come. Meanwhile, Travis' grip around my wrist had grown tighter. His face was extremely pale as he spoke. "Is this a new trick of yours, Rosalie? Do you really think I'll let you off after this? In your dreams!" I flung his hand away. "What new trick? I'm telling you—this is the last chance I'm going to give you. If you don't take my kidney now, then you'll never have it ever again!" I picked up the knife from the floor and turned to leave. Travis' heart trembled. "What are you doing, Rosalie? Put the knife down." I struggled in his grip. "What I do is none of your business! Let me go!" Travis' brows knitted together. "Is this because I asked you to donate your kidney? Don't worry, Rosalie. I'm a doctor. Donating a kidney won't cause any great impact on your life. I can help you live a very long life. Plus…" Travis hesitated briefly as a shy expression appeared on his face. "Susie said that, once you do this for her, she'll speak to my mother about us marrying." "Fuck you! If a kidney donation won't have any great impact, then why don't you do it instead?" I bit down on his hand. However, he didn't let go even when I tasted blood in my mouth. When I grew tired in the end, I said gently to him, "Alright, Travis. I'll admit—I'm just trying to get your attention. Now, can you please let go? You've seen through my scheme. I won't kill myself anymore." Only then did Travis loosen his grip on me. He sighed and said, "Don't ever joke around like this in front of me, Rosalie…" Before he could finish speaking, I raised the knife to my neck and gashed it open. Blood spurted onto Travis' face. I heard three different voices crying out my name before I passed out. "Rosalie!" I saw two familiar figures rushing over toward me just as my eyes began to close.
