I was at the pack gathering, moments away from signing the mate bond documents with Ronald. A servant delivered a message, and Ronald left the venue immediately. "I have urgent business to attend to. Today's ceremony is canceled." He left me alone, forced to offer apologies to the powerful elders. All because the woman he loved had accidentally injured her hand during training.
