She cocked her head to the side, her eyes roaming over me once again.
"Excuse me? What are you saying?" she asked, and a small sigh escaped me. I didn’t have the strength or patience for Adrian’s runaway fiancée—or whatever she was.
"It’s what you heard," I said, stepping forward. I had dinner with my mum to get to, and I was saving my energy for that, not for some random woman.
