CHAPTER FOURTY - THREE - GOING HEADS - ON WITH THE DETECTIVE.
Mateo wasn't sure who he was fuming mad at right now.
Himself, for having almost crossed a boundary with Isabella.
And actually still craving it.
Rafael, for having disrupted that moment.
Which is absurd, that moment totally shouldn't have happened, and he should be thankful to Rafael for stopping him from doing something so foolish.
Detective Hernandez, for disrupting his peaceful morning and bringing a reminder of last night events.
All of the above. He was mad at all of them, but especially at himself.
Abuela stood at the foot of the stairs, and he needed no soothsayer to tell him that she was waiting for him.
" Buenos días, Abuela," he greeted when he got to the foot of the stairs, leaning forward to kiss her cheeks.
" Are you feeling better? Did you manage to sleep?" She asked, her worry obvious.
Mateo nodded. " I slept like a baby, Abuela."
All thanks to BeLLA.
" You shouldn't talk to them until your Aunt Cara gets here," she said, referring to the Detectives.
