The two of them had sped up their work schedule just so they could make it back by Saturday.
After rinsing her mouth, Louise wasn't sure if that line he said earlier was meant to comfort or praise her, but she leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the cheek anyway. Then, before he could grab her, she'd already darted out of the bathroom like a flash.
It wasn't until she came out that she spotted a fiery red bouquet of roses sitting on the nightstand across the bed. No clue when it had been put there - she hadn't noticed it at all before. As she picked it up and breathed in the floral scent, a soft warmth flowed through her - like her whole mood just sweetened up with honey.
Smiling from ear to ear, Louise headed downstairs, completely relaxed.
