Chapter 21

"I have never been to these lands before. Your father should be very proud. He has built a beautiful place here," he smiles down at me as I feel the sparks light up around us as he caresses my hand with his thumb slowly. "There is one beautiful spot here that every mated couple go to. I like to go there to relax sometimes when everything gets too much up there," I say pointing to my head. I feel his hand tighten around mine as he pulls us to a stop. "Take me there," He asks and I nod, changing direction and heading straight into the forest. "I missed you," I blurt out in the silence. Jaxon chuckles, "one day apart and you're already missing me? Now where's the tough Bethany that I wanted to crack gone?" He chuckles again and I roll my eyes pulling my hand out of his and walking ahead. "I was trying to be nice and ho- oh," I stop talking as I feel his hands wrap around my waist and pull me back against him.
