Callum's acceptance was practically a slap in my face. The glee on Ariel's face was so noticeable that I couldn't help but laugh at this ridiculous scene.
Judith led me to the seat beside her and smiled kindly. "Come and sit here. I made you some pumpkin soup. You should have more—it's very tasty."
Judith was my mother's best friend and had always treated me kindly. Therefore, I couldn't help but feel a sense of bitterness about what I was about to say.
However, I didn't choose to back down. After all, I wasn't the type to endure everything thrown my way.
I held her hand and patted it. "Mom, I'll be skipping dinner tonight. I have something important to announce today."
Judith's smile froze. "Can't we talk about this after dinner, Nancy?"
