"Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery, for being late," Jason said, looking genuinely apologetic. Arthur and Vivian exchanged a few polite words with him before motioning for him to sit down—on Samantha's left, with Denise on her right. As Jason settled in, his eyes briefly glanced at Denise.
