Kayra's POV I felt weak and tired, but I trusted Darwis completely. “Thank you, Darwis,” I said softly. “I know I’ve made many mistakes, but I really want us to get through this together.” Darwis held my hand tightly. “We’ll get through this together. I won’t let anything happen to you or our child.” We continued our journey with strong determination. Even though the future seemed uncertain, Darwis promised me that he would do everything he could to protect his family. We would hide until everything could be resolved better, and he wouldn’t give up until I and our child were completely safe. Upon arriving in the small, remote town, Darwis rented a small house away from the hustle and bustle. He made sure I got all the care and rest I needed.  However, as I lay in bed, I heard Darwis talking on the phone with Adrian. "Adrian, I can't find Kayra," he said, his voice full of fatigue. "I'm out of town on business for a while. Tell them I'm busy with work."  I closed my eyes, feeling a litt
