The man in the clown mask hopped into a black van as soon as he left the cemetery.
The van sped off, and the driver was none other than Patrick, the one who'd slipped away back in Harborton.
Patrick handed him a bottle of water. "How'd it go?"
The clown guy yanked off his mask and took a long swig. "She's not dead. The chick next to her pulled her out in time."
"That woman's got guts," Patrick sneered, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
"Should've dealt with her too," the clown man muttered, visibly pissed. "Blew our shot. Won't be easy next time."
Patrick gave a low chuckle. "No rush. The higher-ups already said once this gig's done, we head back to base. Someone else'll finish the cleanup."
His eyes darkened as he spoke, like a venomous snake lurking in the shadows-chilling and ruthless.
