The next day, the evidence of what Natalie had done and the recovered chat logs were sent over to Hugh's place. Hugh bought new versions of everything Kelly had owned and placed them back exactly where they'd been. Every time he came home, it almost felt like she was still there. But the truth was, she wasn't. Without Kelly, the whole villa felt empty, like all the warmth had been sucked out of it. It took Hugh a long time to summon the courage to go through the recovered messages. The most recent one was from the day before Kelly left. It was a secret video Natalie had taken of herself and him sharing a kiss by the piano, followed by a string of texts.
