I sat on the couch alone for what felt like forever. By the time I finally walked back to the bedroom, Arthur was already asleep.
I slid under the covers next to him and stared at the ceiling, my mind a tangled mess. No matter how hard I tried, sleep wouldn't come. The stress of everything with my family pressed down like a weight I couldn't shake.
