Chapter 27: Borrowing Money

"Justin, let me take you home. I'm really worried about you." Naomi clung to his arm, her voice soft and sweet. With me backing her up, if Justin turned her down again, it would definitely look suspicious. He knew that too, so this time, he agreed. Once they left, I paid the bill and caught a cab back to Naomi's place. I was starting work at Mega tomorrow, and I'd already laid out everything I needed. I didn't want to wake up in a panic on my first day. The clock on the wall read nine. I figured Naomi would be out for a while, so I got ready to turn in early. Just as I was about to go to bed, the front door opened. Naomi walked in. I frowned in surprise and stepped over to her. "You're back already? I thought you'd be out longer with your boyfriend." I draped an arm over her shoulder, teasing her lightly. "He said he was tired. I didn't even make it upstairs. He just dropped me at the curb and told me to go home. Serena, did I do something wrong?
