Miranda was surprised. Given Wayne's personality, he didn't seem like the kind of person who would do such a thing. Besides, he was listening to the two men talking the whole time, his eyes never once straying in her direction.

Miranda was still wondering about it as she thanked Wayne while he was returning the serving spoon to its place. He was silent, as if nothing had happened.
