“Mommy! Help!” Eleanor shot up in bed, her heart pounding. “Xander!” She was out of bed in an instant, running down the hall to Xander’s room, her mind racing with worry. She flung the door open to find Xander sitting up in bed, his face pale and tear-streaked, while Levi sat beside him, trying to calm him down. “It’s okay, buddy, you’re safe,” Levi was saying, his voice soothing. Eleanor rushed to Xander’s side, pulling him into her arms. “What happened, sweetheart? Did you have a bad dream?” Xander nodded, his small body trembling. “I dreamed that the rain wouldn’t stop, and it washes everything away…” Eleanor held him close, rubbing his back gently. “It was just a dream, Xander. You’re safe. We’re all safe.” Levi reached out, placing a comforting hand on the boy’s shoulder. “Nothing’s going to happen, Xander. We’re here with you.” Xander looked up at Levi, his eyes wide and trusting. “Promise?” Levi nodded. “Promise.” Eleanor smiled at the sight of them, a warmth spreading
