Lucas strode forward and stood in Rosalie's way. Josiah was caught off guard. When he saw it was Lucas again, he made to shield Rosalie. However, she stopped him. She held his arm and said gently, "We can't continue like this forever. Leave this to me, okay?" He nodded but insisted on waiting for her outside. This warmed her heart and gave her the courage to face Lucas. She turned to look Lucas in the eye and said firmly, "Let's talk things over." Lucas followed Rosalie into her rented place. After sitting down by the window, she instinctively glanced outside at Josiah, who waved at her. That grated on Lucas' nerves. "I thought you would've already gotten together with Aunt Isabelle," Rosalie said calmly. "I'm just her stand-in, and you love her so much that you were willing to donate your kidney to her.
