"You must've really loved her," Bellamy said, sounding sure of it.
That kind of sadness in his eyes and voice-how could it not be love?
"You're wrong. I didn't love her." Dexter lowered his head, voice calm but distant.
Bellamy froze. That was the second time he said he hadn't loved his fiancée.
Still, it felt more like he was lying to himself-like deep down, he did love her but wished he didn't.
Maybe there was more to the story... What exactly happened to his fiancée? An illness? An accident?
She didn't let her thoughts wander further. After all, it wasn't her place to dig into someone else's past.
Dexter stayed silent too. He ran his fingers across the tombstone, then took the lead back toward the path. "Let's go."
